Festival to Bring Legendary Hard Rock Bands to Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey


17 December 2009 | Legendary hard rock bands, including Iron Maiden, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax will be among the bands taking part in next summer’s travelling Sonisphere Festival, which has scheduled stops in several cities in the Balkans.

The current line-up of the festival, which kicks off in Knebworth, UK, on July 30, 2010, also includes Rammstein, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, Iggy and the Stoogies, and the Cult, and – according to its official website, more bands will be added.

The Balkans stops of the travelling festival inlclude: Sofia on June 22 – 23, Athens on June 24, Bucharest and Istanbul on June 25-27.

The exact line-up of each of the festival performances has not be announced yet.

Speaking to international media, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine called the forthcoming jaunt "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for heavy metal fans to see the four greatest heavy metal bands in American history back together on one stage."
