RAMMSTEIN To Release 'Banned' Second Single

German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN will release a new single in the U.S. on February 9 entitled "Ich Tu Dir Weh" exclusively through iTunes. The follow-up single to the controversial "Pussy" single/video, "Ich Tu Dir Weh" is taken from the Berlin-based band's critically acclaimed sixth studio album, "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da".

The "Ich Tu Dir Weh" single bundle will include four remix bonus tracks and a digital booklet. The entire bundle is $4.99 and the songs will also be available for individual purchase.

RAMMSTEIN released the Jonas Åkerlund-directed video for "Ich Tu Dir Weh" in late December and it will also be available as a $1.99 download on iTunes starting February 9. Although the video is airing internationally, the track will not be released as a single in Gemany, Austria or Switzerland, where it has been subject to a government ban and removed from the album entirely, accompanied by changes to the artwork.

"Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" arrived in stores on October 20 through a marketing and distribution arrangement with Vagrant Records and Universal Music Germany. The album was produced by Jacob Hellner and RAMMSTEIN, with recording done at Northern California's Sonoma Mountain Studio. In the U.S. the album entered the Billboard chart at No. 13 — the highest chart entry for the band in the United States ever.

02. Pussy (Scooter Remix)
03. Rammlied (Devin Townsend Remix)
04. Ich Tu Dir Weh (Smallboy Remix)

Zensursula strikes again!

Zensursula strikes again!

The German Family Minister Ursula von der Leyen, also known as Zensursula, has once again addressed his evil eye on Rammstein.
Rammstein's German concerts are brought into the Ministry's radar, and authorities have demanded that there should not shut the concert guests under 18 years unless he is in the company of a parent / guardian. You do not meet these requirements, even with a valid ticket will be refused at the door.

Initially this did not mean that Ich tu dir weh now had to be played. Censored or not. Was the game, it would mean that all members would be presented with a fine of 10,000 euros. Each. That means a total bødesum of 60,000 euros. concert, or nearly half a million. Which was already absurd, since the audience we want to protect, previously denied access to the concerts.
But recent developments suggest that more is an outright smear campaign against Rammstein than anything else.

According to Metal Hammer's Department now requires that no songs from LIFAD be playing live in Germany. At first only in North Rhine-Westphalia, but there is no doubt that it is meant as a test trial as they would like to implement at the national level.

If you are dissatisfied with the grotesque and absurd development Sehnsucht.dk urges people to protest to the German Ministry for Family Affairs to put as much pressure as possible on the ministry to get them to reconsider their grotesque acts. There can be mailed to them on the following mail info@bpjm.bund.de

Rammstein – More Censorship Issues

After being censored for the pseudo mini-porn video that was “Pussy” and the controversies surrounding the single “Ich Tu Dir Weh” (I Hurt You) and a picture inside the album booklet displaying guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe spanking a chubby woman wearing only a mask, it seems that also two Rammstein live shows will be censored now.

In November the album Liebe Ist Für Alle Da got “indexed” by the German Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons, making it illegal in Germany for minors to purchase the album, or display it where it can be seen by people underage, effectively banning it from stores. At the time, keyboardist Christian Lorenz expressed surprise at the advisory board’s “parochial sense of art” and regretted their apparent inability to detect irony.

Now, the German Family Ministry authorities will not allow the band to perform any songs that have been indexed on both their Dortmund shows. Furthermore, the ministry demands each band member to sign a “written explanation before the concerts, that the indexed songs will indeed not be played.” In case of violation, the band faces a fine of €10,000, per person. Public Order director Ortwin Schafer also stated that the Youth Protection Act will be put into force in conjunction with the police and “fans under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian of a person to attend the concert. Fans without a parent or guardian in attendance will be sent home.”

Both concerts, each with over 10,000 attendees, are both sold out. Though the organizers tried to downplay the situation: “We have received no request of the public order of Dortmund”, says Silvia Pape of “Concert Team NRW”. However, there were already telephone contacts. Pape: “Once we have something on paper, we will forward it on to the management and the band. The final decision lies with the guys. ”

Brilliant Stages to supply heavy metal gig: gallery

Brilliant Stages were approached by Jon Perry of Perry Scenic to collaborate on the supply of the staging for German Industrial Metal Rock Band, Rammstein who tour Europe and the Eastern block from November 2009 and well into 2010.

Renowned for what has been termed their horror romanticist blend of theatre and music, Rammstein shows are an orgy of visual excess and the current tour is no exception.

The brief from designers, Roy Bennett and Peter Aquinde, was for a heavy metal ‘iron foundry' look which would incorporate the main stage into the array of lighting pods, collapsing tower blocks and the vast quantity of pyrotechnics which even includes a shower of exploding dolls.

Brilliant Stages were delighted to collaborate with Perry Scenic on this venture and employed Project Manager, Nick Evans, to work alongside Rammstein's Production Manager, Nicolai Sabottka, and Perry Scenic's Project Manager, Tony Guest, in delivering this taxing piece of set.

The staging mainly consists of tiered band platforms surmounting the main stage, with 4 collapsible towers forming the industrial backdrop of the set.

Initially, Brilliant Stages designed and built a hydraulic ramp which was set into the centre of the Stageco (Germany) mainstage, downstage of the drum riser. This manually controlled ramp allows lead singer, ex-Olympic swimmer Till Lindemann, to access the stage from beneath the riser through the Brilliant Stages-built sliding louver doors and also to access the main stage from the top of the drum riser.

Band platforms were then constructed to sit on top of the main stage using Brilliant Stages' custom staging system of aluminium NEACO ‘NI' bars for the decks which allow the full pyrotechnic and lighting effects to penetrate through the grill.

Upstage, the band risers are surmounted by an industrial pipework handrail, inset with the Rammstein logo constructed from LED light boxes.

Within the stage left band platform, which carries keyboard player ‘Flake' Lorenz, is set a running machine which Flake uses throughout the show, covering several kilometers! The travelator is set on a revolve which can spin 180 degrees enabling Flake to play both of his keyboards which are supported on custom built keyboard stands on either side of him. These stands can also be spun around their support columns, which are designed to look like giant electric insulating pylons, at will.

Upstage of the performer platforms, Brilliant Stages supplied four collapsible towers which are used as integral features of the lighting effects, complete with chasing fluorescent tubes and Upstaging Inc. Headlite W LED fixtures. The towers have a series of scenic panels, wrapped around the central truss tower, which can be raised or lowered by means of a wire winch system controlled remotely by a Kinesys motor drive system.

When the panels are in their raised position they resemble a 1930's Eastern European apartment block and can collapse with the ever-present crescendo of pyrotechnics supplied by ffp Spezialeffekte & Veranstaltungslogistik GmbH.

9m high when deployed, when ‘collapsed' the towers fold down into purpose-built bases little more than 2.25m high which are set on castors to enable rapid built, strike and transportation.

For the top of the show both Brilliant Stages and Perry Scenic supplied the band reveal which involves the 2 guitarists smashing their way through a disposable composite panel, with a powerful Falcon Cannon punching beams of white through the ever-enlarging hole. "The central panel was originally conceived as a sheet of steel that Till Lindemann would burn through with a plasma torch," explains Brilliant Stages' Tony Bowern, "but the initial concept was refined to the final existing effect which is that of a burning ring of pyro around an oval panel which is kicked out by Till to reveal him in blood stained attire!"

"Brilliant Stages produced some excellent engineering during the construction and have provided great tour support," says Nicolai Sabottka. "Tony and his team were always there when we needed them."

Brilliant Stages would like to thank Rammstein, Till Lindemann, Flake Lorenz, Christoph Schneider, Paul Landers, Oliver Riedel and Richard Kruspe (in no particular order) and all of their crew for letting them be a part of this full-on show!

Rammstein continue to take their brand of Dance Metal - in a 1km truck convoy - across Europe and the Eastern block until July 2010.

Happy B-Day Till!!!

"Loneliness sometimes gives me a quantity of creativeness - you're drinking another glass of wine and you're feeling even worse. Art doesn't work without pain; art also exists for compensating pain."
